“Argan oil, derived from the nuts of argan trees in Morocco and naturally high in vitamin E, essential fatty acids and antioxidants, has become a star ingredient in products meant to moisturize and control curly hair. Now it’s appearing in luxury skin-care products, too. Kahina, an organic skin-care line based on argan oil extracted by Berber women (above), is the first offering of Giving Beauty, a company collaborating (and sharing proceeds) with women’s cooperatives around the world. There is a facial cleanser with willow bark, papaya extracts and honey ($46); an unscented moisturizer ($58); and an eye serum with peptides and an oil-soluble form of vitamin C ($78).
