I love the scent of Myrrh. It's slightly earthy, resinous, but sweet smell is mixed with additional essential oils in our Kahina serum, giving it a faintly exotic aroma. The Christmas lore of one of the Wise Men bringing Jesus the gift of myrrh at his birth, has always made me associate the oil with this time of year. Looking it up in Wikepedia, I learn that myrrh is a sap that comes from a number of trees. Because myrrh was used in the embalming or anointing of the dead, it came to represent mortality, suffering, and sorrow, which seems a strange gift to give a child.
