Dieline - the world's #1 package design site

Dieline recognizes Kahina-Giving Beauty's packaging that incorporates signatures from the mostly illiterate women in the Moroccan co-ops in addition to the sustainability component - the packaging is created with recycled materials and the bottles are made from recyclable violet glass. Dieline writes: "Aimee Majoros sent in these lovely bottles of Kahina by Giving Beauty. Giving Beauty is a new organic beauty line that uses ingredients from women's cooperatives around the world and donates a portion of profits back to the women who provide those materials. Some interesting background on the Kahina products specifically:
Kahina, which is based on 100% organic argan oil sourced from the women's cooperatives of Morocco, is the first line of products to be released under the Giving Beauty label... Morocco is the only place in the world where the argan trees, from which the oil is harvested, grow. Kahina is actually the name of a Berber queen and prophetess... a heroine to the Berber women and represents empowerment and vision for women worldwide.
The beautiful Kahina packaging was designed by Michael Souter of Territory Brands and incorporates signatures from the mostly illiterate women in the co-op. (Personally I love the stark simplicity combined with the personal touch. It has meaning, but it's also subtle and elegant enough to grace any countertop.) With a focus on sustainability, the Kahina product packaging is created from recycled materials and the bottles are made from recyclable violet glass, which also helps preserve the natural ingredients inside the products."
